The short version
Pacevi is a running coach that works entirely on your phone. Your training and health data stays on your phone. There is no Pacevi account or server, no advertising and no analytics, and nobody at Pacevi can see your data.
What Pacevi reads
From Health Connect, only the data types you allow: exercise sessions, heart rate, speed, distance, steps (for cadence), resting heart rate, heart rate variability and sleep, including data from before you installed Pacevi if you allow access to past data. If you allow background access, Pacevi also reads new data about once an hour while it isn’t open, so your plan adapts to a finished run on its own. Pacevi only reads from Health Connect; it never writes to it.
From intervals.icu, if you connect it with your API key: your activities with their heart rate, pace and other recordings, your wellness data (resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep) and the sport settings in your athlete profile.
FIT files you choose to import, and what you enter yourself: your goal, availability, profile details, morning check-ins and how hard each run felt.
How it is used
Only to work out your training load, fitness and readiness, and to build and adjust your training plan. All of this happens on your phone, including the personal models that learn from your runs.
Your data is not sold, not shared with anyone, not used for advertising and not used to train models anywhere else.
Where it is stored
In an encrypted database on your phone. The encryption key and your intervals.icu API key are kept in Android’s secure storage. Android’s own app backup may include the encrypted database, but not the key, so the backup can’t be read on its own.
What leaves your phone
If you connect intervals.icu, Pacevi downloads your data from intervals.icu over an encrypted connection, using your API key. If you turn on “Send my plan to intervals.icu” (off unless you choose it), Pacevi also sends your upcoming planned workouts (name, date, duration, pace or heart-rate targets and planned load) to your intervals.icu calendar, so they can reach your watch. It sends nothing else there. intervals.icu’s own privacy policy covers the data you keep with them.
A backup file or a diagnostics summary, but only when you choose to export or share one, and only to the place you pick. Backup files are encrypted with a passphrase you choose; the diagnostics summary contains counts and dates, not health values.
Nothing else: Pacevi has no analytics, crash reporting or advertising.
Health Connect
The use of information received from Health Connect will adhere to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices
You can change or withdraw Pacevi’s Health Connect permissions at any time in Health Connect’s settings. In Pacevi, You → Data sources lets you disconnect a source and delete what came from it, and You → Delete everything removes all your data from the phone. Uninstalling Pacevi removes everything too.
Training advice
Pacevi gives training guidance, not medical advice. It is not intended for children under 16.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, the new version appears here with a new date. Questions: [contact email].
